redirection of authentisation

I don't really understand what you're asking.

Could you please rephrase this, maybe add some more details to it?

(Authentication is a login issue anyway, not a mgetty question, so you
might want to look at PAM - pluggable authentication modules - standard in
all current Linux distributions)
