hi again,
okay so i'm starting to seriously have a look at "grep"-ing the mgetty log
file... however...
i want to call my grep-ing program ONLY when the phone RINGS. i don't
really want to monitor the log file for changes. ;-( (with cron or
something)
so, correct me if i'm wrong... but i tried to used cnd-program... however,
i think cnd-program ONLY runs if there IS actually CND information
present. now given that i told the phone company to stop my called id
feature... there is no CID information coming down the modem
is the best thing to hack the code... and get mgetty to call cnd-program
(or maybe call it [ring-program] something else) regardless of whether
there is CID information coming down the modem??
any other solution?
ben
p.s. the ring-program could be silly like maybe sending an ICQ message to
you saying... "You're phone is ringing NOW! ;-)"
