that's usually related to infrared stuff - set that to "Standard", and
it shouldn't interfere with normal operations.
OTOH, there's this thing about on-board serial ports. I have received
a fair number of weird reports over time that had something to do with
lost characters being sent to the modem (usually in mgetty's welcome
message). In most cases, the problems went away when the modem was
changed from the on-board port to a separate serial I/O card. So, to
me this seems as if some/many of the usual multi-I/O chips on nowadays
mainboards are quite buggy. Not buggy enough to harm windows,
though :-(
