mgetty doesn't display logging

What I got on my logs was:

08/02 12:39:59 yS0  timeout in chat script, waiting for `OK'
08/02 12:39:59 yS0  init chat timed out, trying force-init-chat
08/02 12:40:41 yS0  timeout in chat script, waiting for `RING'
08/02 12:40:41 yS0  huh? Junk on the line?

but I dont' know what chat log I should be running, I don't have a
chat log (I don't think)
