Thanks again for your answers, was in fact a corrupt g3 file,
which came out of the netpbm package.

Now as the local version is running, I read somewhere an article,
which described how to use mgetty+sendfax as client/server software.
It was something like setting up a printer for use as fax machine.
Like using FrameMaker on a client machine and sending the file to
mgetty server.
Any howto's around?
