Crippled received faxes

Hello!

I installed mgetty 1.1.15 on my computer (Linux 2.0.32) and use a
ZyXEL U1496E modem. Receiving faxes works pretty fine and saves a
file in /var/spool/fax/incoming for every received page.
When I convert such a page with g32pbm and view the converted page
with any image viewer, the page seems to be crippled a little bit:

7 cm above the bottom of the page there is 1 cm text missing. There's
no free space, but the bottom is shifted 1 cm up. Also the last line
of the page is missing.

The original was a WinWord page with DIN A4 Format which was faxed
with WinFAX to the Linux system.

Any hints?
