i am looking for info in setting up mgetty with autoppp and pap authentication
but still retaining every users static ip. i seem to have ported pppd2.3.3 wrong
to glibc linux so i went back to pppd2.2.0. after the fiasco of having all the
dialups disabled for 8 hour's i am looking for more info on this subject.
the script i use to fireup pppd for each user whose shell is /usr/sbin/ppp-login
is this.
foobar )
/usr/bin/logger -i -p local1.info "foobar tty $tty"
exec /usr/sbin/pppd 38400 modem lock asyncmap 0 passive proxyarp \
crtscts netmask 255.255.255.240 207.54.12.1:207.54.12.97
;;
and so on for each user on the system.
if i set mgetty up for autoppp and leave the /etc/passwd field shell as
/usr/sbin/ppp-login
will this work in firing up ppp for each users static ip address.
also any idea for docs :) on the use of pap and script based dialups at the same
time ?
thank you
Aaron Waller
