   please write to the newsgroup/mailing list only in English. It's read by
   over 500 people all over the world, most of them not able to speak
   German.

Sorry. I have posted this to de.alt.comm.mgetty and was assuming that
the usual discussion language (as with almost all de.* groups) would
be German. Perhaps trying to get a group alt.comm.mgetty instead
would be more appropriate if an international audience is wanted.

   You want mgetty. Isdn4linux is for things that do NOT have AT
   commands.

Actually, I was not talking about isdn4linux but the isdn4linux
tools. isdn4linux provides an AT-mode interface in the kernel, and
consequently the isdn4linux tools (including their answering machine)
use exactly this AT mode interface. I should have expected you to
know this, after all, you support those simulated AT-mode modems of
isdn4linux in mgetty.

   <rant>
   On the other hand, if the thing is dumb enough to not have voice commands,
   it may be a lot less work to get a 100 DM ISDN card, and junk the Speed
   Dragon -- either a vendor does an external box, then it needs a real
   command set, or he does an isdn card, then it needs the proper
   interface...
   </rant>

The thing is basically a telephony station used for connecting three
analogue ports to ISDN, as well as providing for an AT-mode interface.
It does not provide the AT+ voice command set, but a basic AT command
set sufficient for connecting to Internet sevice providers and also
connecting to other service providers including voice on ISDN. It
also provides CAPI1.1 and CAPI2.0 functionality, which I mentioned as
well. Unfortunately, I know of no software using CAPI that is
available for Linux. Junking the Speed Dragon should not be necessary
as, when all else fails, you can still connect an analogue modem to
one of its analogue ports and let that deal with the voice stuff. I'd
prefer a solution employing the Hagenuk interface (which seems simple
enough, although not being a standard AT+ voice set).

point would be
a) complicated
b) not appreciated.

So I'll probably rather look into other options first.
