This means that the name server on the client side is setup wrongly, but
that the mgetty and PPP parts work fine.

Hmmm. Hard to say. Windows' telnet client is incredibly broken, so that
might not really say anything. What kind of error message does it print?
Are you sure that there *IS* a telnet server running on the server side?
