Don't do that.  EVER.  If you send log files, send them UNCHANGED.

Besides this, I think I remember the problem - there was some talk on the
list that the USRs forget their AT#CID settings when changing back from
voice to fax/data mode.  Please use the following entry in mgetty.config,
and then send a new log file:

  post-init-chat "" AT#CID=1 OK
