OK, news on this.

 - ELSA MicroLink Office does CLIP caller ID just fine (well, it's
   reported in Yet Another Format to mgetty, so I had to add a patch
   for that, but that's easy)

 - ELSA MicroLink 56k PRO does NOT support CLIP
