Try connecting 8 modems to a 386/40, bring the load up to 2.5, and see
what will happen if you use all of them at the same time. With class 2,
this is easy.

Hmmm, well - why not use efax for faxing out, and mgetty for dial-in?
This would work pretty well, as long as efax does proper locking (which it
should be able to do, as far as I know).

Sure... find out where the problems with efax are and fix them. Shouldn't
be too hard.

No. If you want to post to de.alt.comm.mgetty, which is the same as
mailing to the mgetty mailing list, use proper e-mail headers.
If you don't want SPAM, fight the spammers, don't annoy all others.
