mgetty+ppp and blank terminal (client win95/98)

"Welcome to..." message is sent to the caller.

... but obviously not received there, so you press a <return>...

I don't think there is a mgetty setup problem here, at least nothing
obvious.  I have seen problems with the login message on some on-board
serial chips on some cheap Pentium mainboards (parts or all of it are
"eaten away") and some modems - but haven't find any fix yet.
