Are all Rockwell chipset voice commands the same?

Sorry for the ignorant question, but I am considering getting a new
practical peripherals data/fax/voice modem which uses the Rockwell chipset.

I called tech support and asked them what voice standard they supported and
the fellow didn't know what I was talking about. The terms he threw at me
were "voice view" and ACIV?!

So, is the voice command set part of the general Rockwell chipset, or can
this change from vendor to vendor? I have read the mgetty+sendfax FAQ
which says that vgetty supports the Rockwell chipset, hence the question.
