connecting to mgetty

Hi,

you don't have a modem, so it cannot work. If you *do* have a modem,
please include the modem vendor, modem model, mgetty log file, etc. in
your mails.

Without data, we simply cannot give you advice.

Hint: try having the modems connect from minicom (go into minicom instead
of running mgetty, if it RINGs, enter ATA+<RETURN> and see whether they
will connect. If they *will*, but it just takes very long, increas the
appropriate timeout in mgetty to make it wait longer for the CONNECT
string).
