connecting to mgetty

i'm not sure if this got out... so please forgive if this is a second copy

i'm having a fun time trying to connect to this. mgetty answers the phone
on the ring command and waits for the connect command. this command seems
to never come. mgetty will time out after a minute and reset.

while it waits for the connect command, the 2 modems seem to go over the
hand shaking about 3 or so times. the modems that are used will conect to
other system without problems.

using mgetty 1.1.5 on linux 2.0.29

any ideas on how to over come this????
