The ISDN4Linux driver seems to work quite well, so if switching to ISDN is
an option for you, this might be a good idea. There are some cheap ISDN
boards for PCs. If you are looking for a cheap anaolg modem, the Dr. Neuhaus
Cybermod performs quite well, I think it costs about US$ 100. But this modem
is probably only available in Germany, I'm afraid. Their WWW page is also in
German... http://www.neuhaus.de.
