FreeBSD 2.2.1 /PPP 2.2.0 and mgetty 1.0.0 or 1.1.5: wtmp and connection problems (fwd)

This is because of your line in login.config:

> /AutoPPP/  -  autoppp /usr/sbin/pppd auth +pap -chap login

Both, mgetty ("autoppp") and pppd ("<username>") open a new wtmp
entry, and init just closes one. Try

/AutoPPP/  -  - /usr/sbin/pppd auth +pap -chap login

and you'll be happy. [I use this feature just under L****, but I noticed
the same behaviour there...]

Sorry, what is the problem with "10 hours of connection during the
weekend"?

I use mgetty 1.1.5 with FreeBSD 2.2.1 on a machine with 35 serial ports
and it works really fine. :)
