Black List for Fax Receivers ?

Hi,

as you might remember, iX Magazine uses mgetty+sendfax
as a net-wide faxing solution. Routine usage is really
heavy (yesterday 11 faxes each consisting of 15 pages
were sent). Our fax modem is a ZyXEL U1496EG+. Two of
the 11 faxes ended in "protocol failure" messages.

Problems with certain fax receivers were mentioned from
time to time on the channel. Is anyone assembling a
list with fax machines that are known to refuse to work
with Zyxels correctly? Do all newer Zyxels react in the
same manner? 

BTW my private Zyxel U1496E which used to crash
sometimes with Linux pl13, pl14 and pl15 still crashes
from time to time. I'm not able to recognize a
systematic behaviour. Crashes come and go. There's
heavy login and UUCP traffic on the line, and most of
the time, the modem works cleanly. But still ...
