I don't understand this too. mgetty send ATA and the modem
ignores it. If I start minicom and type ATA, it works and with
answer-chat "" ATS0=1 CONNECT \c \r
it works too.

Do you know, how I can set up the modem to send this
information even when calling from non-ISDN?
