No hangup after a voice call - Rockwell

I've got another problem: the modem doesn't hang up at the end of a voice 
call. The modem is set up with &D2, and I objectively see the DTR toggling 
after the end of the call. But it doesn't hang up!

The modem is a Cardinal MVP288XV2 Rockwell-chipset voice modem.

Does the modem refuse to respond to DTR -> hangup in voice mode or something? 
Is it then staying in voice mode too long?
