Not able to receive some faxes on USR Sportster flash

I am using USR Sportster Flash X2 with mgetty+sendfax 1.1.12 on Solaris
2.5.1. It works very well with both login and sending/receiving faxes,
but I have problems with some fax machines. 

I tried to send the same fax from my 486 PC with an external Discovery
1414CX modem/fax with the software BitCoM/BitFax and it was successfull. 

I think it is a problem on negotiating the fax connection but I do not
know how to change this.
