;$string_utils:explode("/foo/bar/baz", "/")
=> {"foo", "bar", "baz"}

$whatever:something(@$string_utils:explode("/foo/bar/baz", "/")) should 
do the trick.  Just use $string_utils:explode to convert the string
into a list, separating it at the given character.
