Re: byte based quota
Both PMC and Id switched to byte-based quota recently --
at Id, we couldn't see a reason NOT to have byte-based
quota. It lets players create small objects without
investing a great deal of quota.
It also encourages players to keep their local
properties small (which includes .responsible buffers and of
course mail...) On PMC my character was the 10th largest
object at one point -- a half-meg. It seemed that I had
created a few large lists on myself that I had forgotten to
erase...
I'd vote for byte-based out of the box.
