What about in-database object matching? Ie, if #0:do_match_object exists
and is callable, call it to match dobjstr and iobjstr to their respective
objects. Then you can do all the ~player &local *news matching in
default command verbs you like to your heart's content and, with a
sufficiently complex matching system, never have to see another object
number again.
Also, a match_object() bf would be cool, since I would imagine that
hunting through a list of objects for names or aliases that match a given
string could be a tick intensive task when done in-db.
