Bad crypt!

Folks,
Okay, got FreeBSD to compile.  Had to add a -lcrypt in addition to the 
-lm to the Libraries line in the Makefile.  Here's the problem.  Crypt 
doesn't seem to work properly.

I connect as wizard, @password, then try to reconnect.  Can't do it 
saying the players doesn't exist.  If I don't log out and try to reset 
password, I get "that not the original password".

Get this results with the basic Lambda core using both the 1-7.8p4 and 
1-7.9 servers.  Any suggestions?
