Perhaps they have no reason/incentive to leave the central room?
(i.e. they are perfectly happy in the central one). I wouldn't suggest
forcing them out, but rather luring them away with better / more fun
things available elsewhere.
Sure, you may have 1000 rooms, but if 999 of those rooms are just
TinyScenery there is no reason for anybody to go there.
