This is probably because your server does not support name server 
addresses.  This is not uncommon, but it is a hassle.  LakeMOO has the 
problem pop up every now and then when the server (unstable as it is) 
suddenly no longer accepts name addresses for a short time.

Talk to the administrator(s) about this.  There is no in-MOO cure.
