Got it.

Rather than editing the database directly (which just isn't very much 
fun), you can use the emergency wizard mode.  Just

winmoo -e whatever.db whatever.db.new someport

(If under WinMOO; or moo if you need to do this with the Linux version.)

Then type "help" and go from there.  It's a lot easier than taking an 
editor to your database...
